Other Interests

Adventure Games / Open Source Software

Ever since playing them from an early age, I have loved the interactive film aspect of adventure gaming. Recently I have become involved in the open-source ScummVM project, which is a C++ re-implementation of the engines of several early adventure games. I am the lead developer of a re-implementation of the game engine used in the game "The 7th Guest" that is being produced by disassembling the original executable. The engine is is at a stage that makes the game playable (though not completely stable): code and documentation are available at http://code.google.com/p/t7gre/. I have also assisted the development of other areas of ScummVM by submitting patches to add additional features, as well as finding and helping to fix bugs.

Juggling

I have enjoyed the art of juggling for about ten years, and I was president of the Southampton University Juggling Club for three years. I have performed a number of times at street festivals across the country, but the main reason that I juggle is because I find it relaxing.

Drama

Since attending a weekly theatre workshop at the age of 7 I have been involved in drama. I have acted a number of leading roles (Mort, in "Mort"; Reginald Christie, in "Christie in Love"), but my most enjoyable experience was directing and co-producing a very successful production of "Bouncers" by John Godber.
